Listen, Imagine and Build. Our three-word design philosophy encompasses our firm’s mission to actively listen; test ideas with imaginative design and to view the solution through the lens of how it is best realized for each individual client. Our process is engaging, collaborative and professional.

KG+D has been in practice in Mount Kisco, NY for 26 years–founded as Kaeyer, Garment + Davidson in 1994, the firm has built upon a well-established legacy of more than 85 years of superior services to school clients throughout the Hudson Valley region.

The firm is led by principals and owners Russell Davidson FAIA, Walter Hauser AIA, Erik Kaeyer AIA LEED AP, Sarah W. Dirsa AIA LEED AP NOMA, Brian O. Mangan AIA, and Travis S. Schnell AIA. The six principals provide a diverse and well-balanced collection of skills, professional experience and leadership qualities that ensure a continuity of expertise across all planning and project phases for every type of project and design challenge.

Every project in our office is lead directly and actively by one or more principals. Our professional team provides all services required for every project and includes licensed architects, interior designers, landscape architects, civil engineers, structural engineers, MEP engineers, specification writers and cost estimators. With access to an unparalleled network of professionals and specialty consultants, KG+D Architects is a single source, one-stop-shop for all professional services required to complete even the most complex and demanding projects.

KG+D’s goal is to collaborate with our clients to improve the built environment through engaging, sustainable and inspiring design. The vast majority of our work is for school and community-based clients in the Connecticut and New York area. KG+D seeks to achieve the greater good for our communities—designing the places you live, learn, work and play.
